Capri

The weather changes pretty quickly on an island and Capri is no exception. The sun was going down and suddenly the clouds came down hard and fast and I just had time to rush back to pick up my camera and take this shot of the coming storm. [..]

Lyon0

It’s been a while since I went to Lyon, but it is a really beautiful city. The countryside around it is spectacular too, in a completely different way. We were there around Christmas time a few years ago, and I took quite a few pictures of the snow covered landscape. [..]

Giraffes

During our trip to the Masai Mara, we learned that animals in general tend to stop and stay completely still when it is raining a lot. I don’t really know why, but it enabled me to take that great shot on a long exposure on the way back to camp, even with very little light to play with. [..]

Ocean

When we went to the Seychelles, we spent a few days at the Chateau de Feuilles, an amazing Relais & Châteaux perched on top of Praslin’s highest hill, and we had the chance to spend one day on a private island belonging to the owners of the hotel, and where the guests can wander about once a week. The island is absolutely stunning and untouched and the snorkeling is out of this world (I came face to face with the biggest napoleon fish I have ever seen in my entire life). Barbecue on the beach was great fun, smaller fish actually come out of the water to eat in your hand, and you can just walk around and enjoy gorgeous views of the Indian Ocean.

Wooden Gate

Just outside of L.A. (or three hours by car…) you can find the vineyards of Santa Barbara. As much as Napa Valley has become almost overrun with tourists, limos and stag parties, Santa Barbara still maintains a rural charm. As soon as you get away from the main road, the landscape becomes almost deserted, and the yellow of the dry fields is in stark contrast with the deep blue of the sky. I have no idea where this gate was leading, but it looked inviting.
