I’ve been to many a bullfight (or “corrida de toro”) when I was living in Madrid, but I never took my camera to one. With hindsight, a big mistake since I would have loved to capture Jose Tomás first steps in front of the world’s most difficult crowd, and his triumphant exit carried over their shoulder through the main gate, an extremely rare occurrence in Las Ventas. Oh well, you can’t win’em all I guess. So this time, when we came back for a long weekend, I took my 70-200 zoom out, and was ready to fill in a few memory cards. It didn’t turn out to be the best bullfight ever, far from it, but I still managed to capture a few fun shots like this one.
